Ming and Qing Alley

The Yiyang Mingqing Ancient Lane Tourism Comprehensive Development Project is a key construction project in Yiyang City in 2022. The project is located west of Sanyi Street and south of Jinhuahu West Road in Ziyang District, Yiyang City, with a planned total land area of 318.49 acres.

In the history of the Ming and Qing dynasties, the ancient alley area belonged to the Old Yiyang Three Forts, which emerged in the Ming Dynasty and was one of the birthplaces of the ancient city of Yiyang. There are three of the most beautiful alleys in Jiangnan, four major historical buildings, four Qing Dynasty docks, seven traditional residences, and seventeen old commercial sites of the Republic of China preserved. There are a total of 41 cultural relics protection units and sites. Among them, the three ancient alleys are Weigongmiao Lane, Yulingpo Lane, and Denglongguan Lane. The ancient alley is about 85-100 meters long and 1.8 meters wide, with high walls on both sides supported by arches. The architectural style of "arch supported walls" in the alley is unique to the country, showcasing the local ancient alley culture, dock culture, commercial development process, and folk religion. It is a concrete expression of local cultural heritage and carries the imprint of the life of the people of Lao Yiyang.

This place rises from the water and is the birthplace of industry and commerce in Yiyang. It is a witness to the history of Yiyang and has a history of more than 300 years. It is known as the "most beautiful alley in Jiangnan, China".
